Subject: Strategy on the rights of persons with disabilities 2021-2030
In early March 2021, with the Commission’s presentation of the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030, another step was taken towards building the European Pillar of Social Rights.
The three key themes that have been chosen are the right ones (rights in the EU; independent living and autonomy; non-discrimination and equal opportunities) and the initiatives envisaged are also appropriate, if not absolutely vital.
If it does as planned, the Commission will be delivering on a key dimension of its work.
My question is straightforward: would the Commission consider, as a rule, including the promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities in its proposals for EU fund regulations?
