Subject: Frontex involvement in Common Security and Defence Policy missions
The European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) takes part in various Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) missions in third countries. The activities involve controlling and preventing irregular migration, border management, combating people smuggling and trafficking, and combating the causes of migration.
- In which third countries has Frontex been involved in migration-related missions over the last four years, and what was the purpose of those missions in the countries concerned?
- With which authorities has Frontex cooperated in each country, and to what extent has cooperation also involved the military?
- As part of which CSDP missions has the European External Action Service or Frontex supported or funded the establishment or operation of detention centres, as, for example, in the case of EUAM Ukraine?
