Subject: Bosch announces closure of another plant in Lliçà d’Amunt with further massive job losses
The German multinational Bosch has announced the closure of one of its plants in the town of Lliçà d’Amunt, bringing with it the loss of 336 jobs. In September Bosch closed its plant in Castellet. Taking into account both plants and their suppliers, it is estimated that 1 500 jobs will be lost in all. Furthermore, 75 % of its employees in Lliçà are aged 50 or over. The firm is moving production to Poland and Serbia. Other industrial companies in Catalonia whose business is connected to the automotive sector, such as Saint-Gobain Glass, Alfisa, Tachi-S or TE Connectivity, have also recently closed and relocated their production to other countries.
