to the Commission
Eugen Jurzyca (ECR)
Subject: Barriers to the free movement of capital
The free movement of capital is one of the fundamental freedoms that underpin the single market. However, in some EU Member States, regulatory requirements may be disproportionally burdensome for foreign entities operating in the area of financial services.
For example, in Czechia, an entity must have its registered office and head office in Czechia to be granted a local financial services licence(1), and the registration process can be very long.
Will the Commission address this issue in the planned revision of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and Regulation?
