Subject: Anti-Racism Coordinator

On 17 May 2021, the Commission designated an Anti-Racism Coordinator. The Finnish national, Michaela Moua, was appointed to the post and will be responsible for ‘strengthening policies in the field of anti-racism’. She will work with representatives of minorities as well as with Member States, the European Parliament and actors from civil society and academia.

  1. What sound reasons are there to legitimise this new post?
  2. What policy measures will the Coordinator be able to propose and in what areas?
  3. How much money will the Coordinator receive to establish her office and to carry out her duties?
