Trafficking in cultural goods – EU action plan

Summary

As part of the EU strategy on organised crime, the Commission has adopted an action plan against trafficking in cultural goods for 2022-25, to disrupt criminal activities and protect cultural heritage.

The action plan’s overall aim is to:

  • raise awareness
  • improve information exchange and cooperation (including with non-EU countries)
  • strengthen capacity building and expertise.

The plan will also explore ways to improve the online and offline traceability of cultural goods.
