The impacts of trade liberalisation are wide ranging covering not just the economic sectors where business is done, but the social and environmental consequences which result through increased or decreased production, supply chain demands and distribution logistics. A “Paris agreement” for biodiversity and an EU Biodiversity Law are needed to ensure that ecosystems are restored, resilient, and adequately protected by 2050.

On Tuesday, Parliament adopted the resolution “EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030: Bringing nature back into our lives” with 515 votes to 90 and 86 abstentions addressing the current biodiversity crisis in Europe and the rest of the world.
